Jibanananda Das Personal life:
Jibanananda Das studied English literature at Presidency College at Kolkata. Then he earned his MA from Kolkata University. He had suffered financial hardship throughout his life. He settled in Kolkata after the partition of India. After his death, it was discovered that apart from poems, Das wrote 21 novels and 108 short stories. His notable works include Ruposhi Bangla, Banalata Sen, Mahaprithibi, Shreshtha Kavita. Das’s early poems exhibit the influence of Kazi Nazrul Islam. He had 2 children. His spouse name was Labanyaprabha Das (née Gupta)
Jibanananda Das Literary life:
He is considering one of the greatest poets in the Bengali language. Das received Rabindra-Memorial Award for his great creation Banalata Sen in 1953 at All Bengal Rabindra Literature Convention. Also, his Shrestha Kavita won the Sahitya Academy Award in 1955. Some of his popular works are Ruposhi Bangla, Banalata Sen, Mahaprithibi, Shreshtha Kavita, etc. His popular novels are Karu-Bashona, Malyabaan, Mrinal, Nirupam Yatra, Pretinir rupkatha, Sutirtha, Joyoti, etc. Das died in 1954. After eight days hit by a tramcar. He lived for 55 years.
