Personal life of Humayun Ahmed:

His mother’s name is Ayesha Foyez and his father, Foyzur Rahman.  Ahmed was born in the then Netrokona Mahakuma under Mymensingh District. His mother, Ayesha Foyez was a housewife. His father, Foyzur Rahman Ahmed was a sub-divisional police officer in Pirojpur District. His father was killed in 1971 during the Bangladesh Liberation War. His younger Muhammed Zafar Iqbal is a writer and teacher. Another brother, Ahsan Habib is a famous cartoonist.

Humayun Ahmed studied from Chittagong Collegiate School. He passed the SSC exam from Bogra Zilla School. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s in chemistry from the University of Dhaka. Then he joined as a faculty member of the Dhaka University. Later he earned his Ph.D. in polymer chemistry from North Dakota State University.

Humayun Ahmed Literary life:

His first creation was novel Nondito Noroke. The novel was published in 1972 by Khan Brother’s Publishers. He got massive success with his very first book. His second novel was Shonkhonil Karagar. Ahmed wrote fictional series and some strong character Himu series, Misir Ali 20 series and also Shubhro. He wrote some stories based on the Bangladesh Liberation War those are Aguner Poroshmoni, Paap, 1971, Srabon Megher Din. He won many Awards for contribution to Bengali literature. Those are Bangla Academy Literary Award also Ekushey Padak. Some of his Films. Those were Daruchini Dwip, Aguner Poroshmoni, and Ghetuputra Komola, etc. He died in 2012 at Bellevue Hospital in New York City.
